As an abstract visual artist Stella’s work is strongly grounded in her surroundings, unconsciously influenced by the ever-changing landscapes of Strangford Co Down and the Fanad Peninsula, Co Donegal. Her landscapes serve as a point of departure, a place for exploring the deeper currents of emotions and experience. The shifting tides, seascapes, landscapes and seasons permeate. She paints without intent, intrigued by the colour, movement, complexity, order and disorder as it presents itself. She primarily uses oil and cold wax for its natural colour, richness,layering and softness. Ultimately her artistic vision is to create a visceral experience where viewers find interest in exploring themselves, their landscapes and environment at a closer level.  Her work is in private collections in New York, Melbourne, Brisbane, London, Edinburgh, and across the island of Ireland. She is a professional member of  Visual Arts Ireland, member of the Irish Palette group and Bo studios. Recently she was awarded a residency in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre Co. Monaghan and Cill Rialaig, Co Kerry.
