Gina Fegan
Gina Fegan is an artist working in acrylic, multimedia collage, and watercolour. Her work explores themes of positivity, generosity, and warmth through vibrant colour and a range of forms. Drawing from a background in film and creative storytelling, Gina begins each piece by identifying the emotional core through colour, building layers of marks to gradually reveal the final image. She works primarily in acrylic on canvas for larger-scale works or on wood panels for smaller pieces.
Inspired by nature and particularly the flowers in her garden, her compositions often feature satisfyingly rounded containers and organic forms. She is known for incorporating subtle touches of gold to draw attention to key points within the work. With a nod to the traditional still life, Gina brings a dramatic sense of colour and light to her paintings while introducing quiet elements that suggest the passage of time.
In her landscapes, she explores light as a way of implying movement and future possibility. Gina has exhibited in the U.K. and Ireland. She is a recipient of the Gudrun Art Scholarship and a participant in the Cultural Ambassadors programme at the University for the Creative Arts. She is an active member of The Irish Palette artists’ collective.
